I met Jesse and James for their engagement session at the Sacramento famous Funderland Amusement Park in William Land Park. I love photographing in places that hold happy memories for my wedding couples and I hope that today we made more happy memories. We were going to have this session a week ago but we were rained out, in fact every single time I’ve met with Jesse and James it has rained and though they say that rain on a wedding day is a blessing, pray for sun.
The Grand Island Mansion is a beautiful Italian Villa on the California Delta, 30 minutes from Sacramento and east of the San Francisco Bay. The mansion sits majestically in the center of the beautiful manicured grounds; you get a sense of royalty as soon you make your way through it’s iron gates. This is a wonderful place for a wedding and I’m looking forward to working here this year.
I always wanted a beach wedding. The big blue sky, the sound of the waves as they crash on the edge of the beach, surrounded by the fresh scent of sea salt and white sand on your toes. I never had a beach wedding but I’m happy to say that my friends Nallely and Erick are getting married on the beach. They are getting married on the beach of Tiburon, a lovely seaside village in Marin County and I’m happy to say that I am their photographer; I’m so excited and I can’t wait!
This fall wedding took place in October at the Forest House Lodge which is a private twenty-seven thousand square foot facility at Forest Hill. The Bride and Groom exchanged their vows overlooking a beautiful canyon of red, yellow and green underneath a lovely canopy of trees; surrounded by their Family, Friends and Nature.
Here are two pages of the album that I designed for this event. Weddings are always fun but once that cake is cut and the last dance is done, I’m transform from photographer to a album designer. My job, when laying out the images for the wedding album, is to assemble the images that will best tell the story of the events that took place on your wedding day. The wedding heirlooms that I offer to my bridal couples are custom leather bound albums with images that are printed directly on to the page protecting your investment.
Susan and Mike were married at the beautiful Le Rivage Hotel and Spawhich sits right in front of the Sacramento River. Le Rivage has a old Mediterranean charm and it’s a great place for wedding, a few minutes here and I forgot that I was in Sacramento. The ceremony was held out on the lawn over the marina and the guest were a lively and knew how to party. Later that evening the clouds started to roll in allowing for a dramatic sky and great pictures.
I felt so much love photographing this wedding. I’ve known Marlene for a few years so when she asked if I would photograph her wedding I was thrilled! The wedding began with a rehearsal dinner on Friday night with family, great food, a kiss and a Hawaiian Lei from the Bride, wishing all her guest good luck. The house was buzzing all night with excitement and it ended with a few fun family portraits. The next day was a great day for a wedding. Ernesto paced back and forth as he rehearsed his vows and the rest of the family busied about the house getting ready. At the other side of the community, Marlene was glamorous in her teal Mermaid dress looking like Spanish Royalty. The officiant for the ceremony was the brother of the Bride and doves were released in memory of loved ones. After the toast and the cake the DJ opened up the floor and guest danced and celebrated the whole night through; Rancho Murieta Country Clubis a great place for a wedding.
Thank you Marlene and Ernesto for making me feel like family, love and blessing.
p.s. Give it up to the following vendors that made Marlene & Ernesto’s wedding fabulous!
Bridal couples have sent me emails in the past raving about the service that I have provided for them on their wedding day but this is the first time I receive a compliment an entire year before the wedding. I was shooting a wedding at Rancho Murieta Country Club this weekend and in the crowd was an engaged young lady that happen to hire me for her wedding next year. Later that night I recieved a quick note on FaceBook from her Fiance saying, “…Nallely told me that she saw you do an excellent job. She said you were everywhere and she hasn’t seen a photographer do a job like you and she wasn’t saying that because you are our photographer. We too are blessed and know that you do more than just photography you truly care about our special day and it is evident that you enjoy what you do…” You never know who is watching.
The more weddings I do in Sacramento the more I learn and love this place. Daphne and Chris’s wedding took place in Old Folsom. We had fun photographing the bridal party around the Historic Town of Old Folsom. After wards, the ceremony was celebrated at the Trinity Episcopal Church on Figueroa St. When I saw the location I was amazed how many times I drove by this place and never noticed this charming church. Founded in 1856, they say that it may be the oldest church in Folsom, and the third oldest Episcopal church in California. It’s a very nice church for a intimidate wedding and on this day it was nearly 100 degrees.
Last night we photographed our friends at Rancho Murieta Country Club, what a beautiful and serene place for a wedding. It was a great idea to photograph them at the same time of day that the wedding will be taking place. We scouted the golf course for the best location for their bridal portrait and went we over the time line for the day. I didn’t know that Rancho Murieta had two 18 hole championship golf courses! It was so much fun to hangout and photograph the engaged couple, they are so full of excitement. I am so lucky to be photographing theit wedding and I’m looking forward to meeting the family at the rehearsal dinner.
My good friends had their wedding at the Cal Neva Resort. It would of been cool to be around when Frank Sinatra owned this joint; it had to be jumping! While the Bride wore a beautiful wedding dress the Groom decided that he and his Grooms Men, would go with a Guayaberainstead of the traditional suit. As a Puerto Rican and a proud owner of a few of Guayabera shirts, I thought that the Groom and his crew looked really cool.
I love the emotion, the tears, the smiles the dancing. I love to see Moms tears of joy while she watches the stoic Dad give into his emotions as he dances with his little girl. I have a little Princess too and every time I see the Father Daughter Dance I choke up because I know that one day my little girl will meet her Prince. Weddings are always emotional and fun. There is nothing more elegant than a Bride in a beautiful wedding dress being held in the embrace by her Groom in front of God, family and friends. MyWedding Photography is a fusion of Traditional and ContemporaryLifestyle Photography which always = Fun. Let’s meet for a consultation.
