I had a great time photographing my friends Amalia and Jorge’s wedding. Amalia wore a one strap dress with a the flower in her hair, she looked like Eva Longoria and Jorge looked dapper and like George Clooney on the red carpet.
The church ceremony at Santuario De Quadalupe went smooth the pews were packed with friends and family. This is the second wedding that I’ve been to that Mariachi’s played the wedding march as the bride made her way to the groom and I must say that it’s growing on me. Afterwords, we opened a bottle of champagne and ran around downtown for bridal portraits with our last at the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium.
At the Elks Tower Ballroomthe guest rose to their feet and cheered as Amalia and Jorge made there way to the table. They had there first dance, cut the cake and danced the rest of the night away.
This has been an exciting year for me as a wedding photographer. I’ve learned a lot about my family, made deeper bonds with friends, my business is growing and I’m not done yet! I’m happy to report that I have one more wedding to shoot before 2011 is out. My friendsAmalia and Jorge are getting married this weekend. The ceremony will be at the Santuario De Quadalupe and the reception will be held in Elks Tower Ballroom; we are super excited. We are also running around and getting ready for the 2012 Arden Hills Premier Wedding Show and theDream Wedding Show at CalExpo, we are so psyched!
Nallely and Erick had their civil wedding at Tiburon earlier this year and this weekend they celebrated their religious ceremony in Sacramento at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament. I first met with Erick and his Groomsmen and took pictures of them poolside. Then ran to see Nallely for her getting ready pictures. Nallely looked cool and relaxed as she was getting her make up done by Anita and when we were finished with family photos we whisked her over to the House of Fashion so they could adjust her veil and train. The ceremony began at 2pm. Erick waited for his bride in front of the alter as Nallely walked down the aisle with her father towards her groom. The church was packed with friends and family. The mother of the bride gave her a blessing before the father handed her of to the groom; mother and daughter briefly cried. Mariachis sang hymns during the ceremony and in front of us all Erick and Nallely were made one. After-wards we walked down J street and photographed them in front of the Crest Theater and the Capital.
I had a great time photographing Jesse and James this weekend. James got ready at his place, he was sporting Transformer cuff link and I think I might need to get Kevin a pair. The Grooms Men were cool, in fact this guys acted more like a pack of brothers than just Grooms Men. Jesse got ready at her mothers place, her bride maids were graceful and cute. When I went to see Jesse she was all smiles but nervous. Her friends had a good time helping her into her dress and when it was all done she looked beautiful. TheCentennial United Methodist Church was packed with friends and family and afterward we went to William Land Park for photos in front Vintage 1936 Dodge Coupe.
Nallely and Erick have been planning their civil wedding for over a year. Nallely’s plan was to walk from her penthouse suite at theWharf Inn inSan Francisco, to Pier 39 on Embarcadero street, take the Blue & Gold Ferry and meet her Groom in Tiburon a small town of Marin County and she did it but, in the rain. We anticipated rain so we made preparations the week before. We bought the Bride and Groom clear dome shape umbrellas which I thought would be fun for pictures. The camera was in a water proof bag and my assistant covered me and the camera as we made our way to the ferry. It was great to see that tourist and Bay Area Natives clap and cheer as the Bride walked the streets in her beautiful wedding dress in the rain. Nallely and Erick had their hearts set on getting married at the edge of the shore in Tiburon but Mother Nature had other plans. When Nallely arrived we learned that her guest had taken shelter in Guaymas, a restaurant near by. I looked for the manager and explained the situation and she suggested that we use the upper room of the restaurant!!! THIS IS GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE, without taken a dime she offered their room for this special moment. The staff lit candles, turned on the fireplace and created a charming place for family and guest to witness this wonderful event. After they exchanged their vows the rain stopped and we went outside for the family portraits.
The skies were gray, the wind blew and the rain came but nothing would damped their excitement. They say that rain on a wedding day is a good omen, it could be but I don’t think that any of the guest thought for a minute that this couple needed a omen. The room was full of old and new friends and the guys made me laugh at the toast, some guy said something about “Every flower needs a vase…” something like that, while others just shared about how special Melissa and Greg are. I think it was this expression of love that lifted the gray clouds the let the sun shine through which lead to a great evening in the end. Mellisa & Greg, thank you for allowing me the opportunity to photograph your wedding day, many blessings for years to come.

The Grand Island Mansion is a beautiful Italian Villa on the California Delta, 30 minutes from Sacramento and east of the San Francisco Bay. The mansion sits majestically in the center of the beautiful manicured grounds; you get a sense of royalty as soon you make your way through it’s iron gates. This is a wonderful place for a wedding and I’m looking forward to working here this year.
This fall wedding took place in October at the Forest House Lodge which is a private twenty-seven thousand square foot facility at Forest Hill. The Bride and Groom exchanged their vows overlooking a beautiful canyon of red, yellow and green underneath a lovely canopy of trees; surrounded by their Family, Friends and Nature.
Here are two pages of the album that I designed for this event. Weddings are always fun but once that cake is cut and the last dance is done, I’m transform from photographer to a album designer. My job, when laying out the images for the wedding album, is to assemble the images that will best tell the story of the events that took place on your wedding day. The wedding heirlooms that I offer to my bridal couples are custom leather bound albums with images that are printed directly on to the page protecting your investment.
Susan and Mike were married at the beautiful Le Rivage Hotel and Spawhich sits right in front of the Sacramento River. Le Rivage has a old Mediterranean charm and it’s a great place for wedding, a few minutes here and I forgot that I was in Sacramento. The ceremony was held out on the lawn over the marina and the guest were a lively and knew how to party. Later that evening the clouds started to roll in allowing for a dramatic sky and great pictures.
I felt so much love photographing this wedding. I’ve known Marlene for a few years so when she asked if I would photograph her wedding I was thrilled! The wedding began with a rehearsal dinner on Friday night with family, great food, a kiss and a Hawaiian Lei from the Bride, wishing all her guest good luck. The house was buzzing all night with excitement and it ended with a few fun family portraits. The next day was a great day for a wedding. Ernesto paced back and forth as he rehearsed his vows and the rest of the family busied about the house getting ready. At the other side of the community, Marlene was glamorous in her teal Mermaid dress looking like Spanish Royalty. The officiant for the ceremony was the brother of the Bride and doves were released in memory of loved ones. After the toast and the cake the DJ opened up the floor and guest danced and celebrated the whole night through; Rancho Murieta Country Clubis a great place for a wedding.
Thank you Marlene and Ernesto for making me feel like family, love and blessing.
p.s. Give it up to the following vendors that made Marlene & Ernesto’s wedding fabulous!
I love the emotion, the tears, the smiles the dancing. I love to see Moms tears of joy while she watches the stoic Dad give into his emotions as he dances with his little girl. I have a little Princess too and every time I see the Father Daughter Dance I choke up because I know that one day my little girl will meet her Prince. Weddings are always emotional and fun. There is nothing more elegant than a Bride in a beautiful wedding dress being held in the embrace by her Groom in front of God, family and friends. MyWedding Photography is a fusion of Traditional and ContemporaryLifestyle Photography which always = Fun. Let’s meet for a consultation.
